Elizabeth
Rumsey began her musical studies at the Conservatorium of Music in
Sydney, Australia, from which she has a performance degree in Recorder.
She has played both recorder and viola da gamba in many ensembles in and
around Sydney, including the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and
Orchestra of the Antipodes, as well as teaching at the Sydney
Conservatorium.
She has a particular interest in ensemble or chamber music and has for
the last few years been studying Mediæval fiddle, recorder and viola da
gamba at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. She has given concerts in
Australia, Europe, Scandinavia, USA and Canada, and plays regularly with
small ensembles including La Morra, The Earle His Viols, and Les Flamboyants.
