Margit
Übellacker is a pioneering performer of medieval music on her
dulcemelos
with her group of the same name (www.dulcemelos.com)
and Le Basile. Having completed her classical dulcimer training at the
Bruckner-Konservatorium, Linz with Karl-Heinz Schickhaus and the
Strauss-Konservatorium in Munich with Birgit Solzenburg-De Biaso, she
moved to Basel to specialise in medieval music at the famous Schola
Cantorum Basiliensis, studying with the medieval lutenist Crawford
Young.
She is a versatile musician and performs worldwide on both baroque and
classical dulcimer models. She has taken part in a considerable number
of concerts, broadcasts and recordings with well known European
ensembles such as L’Arpeggiata, L’Orfeo Barockorchester,
the Concilium Musicum Wien, Esterhazy Barockensemble,
Musica Fiorita, the Orchestre de Radio France, and A
Musical Banquet Freiburg.
